OpenHIE Community Meetings are annual events that bring together community members to connect and learn from each others’ shared experiences and strengthen the ability to design and build toward ecosystems that raise the level of health for all.

In 2023—the 10 year anniversary of OpenHIE— the community meeting will take place in Lilongwe, Malawi! Government officials, implementers, tech developers, and other stakeholders across the community will have opportunities for networking and collaboration.

| What to Expect at OHIE23 |

Implementing countries will be invited to share their success and challenges around architecture. Attendees will also hear from Malawi about their work on operationalizing interoperability.

Additionally, participants can expect sessions and affiliated events like:

  • an OpenHIE Architecture Summit to discuss OpenHIE’s framework
  • sessions to bring countries together to talk share experiences
  • networking time for eHealth leaders to discuss important governance and policy topic
  • a hackathon to allow developers to collaborate
  • several open “unconference” sessions for which topics are proposed by attendees relevant to their experiences / OpenHIE implementation work (Have ideas to share now? Use this Topic Suggestion Board).

Open “Unconference” Session Topic Submission Board

Members of the community have asked to bring up proposed session topics prior to the #OHIE23 event. We encourage community members to add topics they would like to hear about. Please share your ideas on this Miro board before 21 April 2023.

The ideas shared are suggestions for future unconference sessions and are not guaranteed to appear on the agenda at #OHIE23. We will also use these suggestions for any future virtual opportunities for the community.

#OHIE23 Technical Showcase

For the Technical Showcase session, come prepared to share your organization or team’s global good, product, project, service or tool with the community. The planning team is setting aside an hour session for a limited number of technical providers and organizations to showcase their work and network with community members. We request that the tools / project showcased support OpenHIE architecture and standards.

 

On Tuesday 2 May in the main conference ballroom, we’ll assign tables to organizational and project team representatives to meet with participants interested in learning more from them. We’ll mark tables with a card with the organization’s logo.
