2023 OpenHIE Community Meeting

In 2023—the 10 year anniversary of OpenHIE— the community meeting will take place in Lilongwe, Malawi on the 1st through 5th of May! This year’s theme is OHIE23: A Decade Journey of Building Better Digital Health. This will be the community’s first return to an in-person meeting format since the 2018 and 2019 community meetings – join us to network and learn from one another!
What to Expect from the 2023 OpenHIE Community Meeting
OpenHIE Community Meetings are annual events that bring together community members to connect and learn from each others’ shared experiences and strengthen the ability to design and build toward ecosystems that raise the level of health for all.
Implementing countries will be invited to share their success and challenges around architecture. Attendees will also hear from Malawi about their work on operationalizing interoperability.
Government officials, implementers, tech developers, and other stakeholders across the community will have opportunities for networking and collaboration.
Additionally, participants can expect sessions and affiliated events like:
- an OpenHIE Architecture Summit to discuss OpenHIE’s framework
- networking time for eHealth leaders to discuss important governance and policy topic
- sessions to bring countries together to talk share experiences
- a hackathon to allow developers to collaborate
- several unconference topics proposed by attendees relevant to their implementation work
