OpenHIE Community Structure Updates for 2023: Architecture & Standards

In an effort to improve support for the growing OpenHIE Community, refinements are being made to the community structure in 2023. This will include changes to Architecture & Standards calls. These changes are designed to get input from various community perspectives and allow us to strengthen the community voice and input into OpenHIE architecture documentation.

  • HIE Project Sharing Sessions will focus on hearing about the use cases and data exchange patterns from HIE related projects
  • The Architecture Summit is designed to gather input from the whole community.
  • SubCommunity Alignment Meetings will focus on sharing topics and information across various sub communities.
  • Architecture and Standards Meetings are designed to encourage community members to bring forward topics related to data exchange and standards. This meeting will also serve as roadmap working sessions.

See call schedule and details here.

We are also forming a smaller Technical Committee who will synthesize this feedback to expand the communities specification, capacity building, and other reference materials. This charter and group is under formation.

The leadership group is also undergoing updates – stay tuned for more details!

If you want to get more involved in leading OpenHIE, learning more about the Technical Committee formation, or other updates shared in this blog,  please reach out to us at support@ohie.org

We also recommend signing up to the mailing list for updates and monthly community meeting outlooks. Including details around the annual community meeting in May 2023, #OHIE23, we anticipate many conversations around the OpenHIE architecture to take place.
